Technical Director of Geological Services

Our Client based in Baxterley, Warwickshire is one of the leading independent Environmental advisers to Public and Private sector companies in the UK and internationally.

Our Client is looking for a Technical Director of Geological Services to provide support to the Geotechnics department and other departments within our clients company. The candidate will undertake responsibility for specific project performance and control including research and development work and, where appropriate, project procurement.

The successful candidate’s skills will include:
• Able to carryout all duties in regards to Management,
• 7-10 years previous experience in a similar role,
• Previous experience of working with Quality Management Systems would be an advantage,
• Chartered Geologist (or working towards) would be an advantage,
• Hydrologist training would be an advantage,
• Experience of Project management, budgeting & financial control,
• Have Great People Skills,
• Have a Working understanding of all aspects of Health and safety,
• Expert Knowledge of soil mechanics relating to landfills / minerals and contaminated land,
• Working knowledge of slope stability,
• Experience of using Nuclear Density Meters would be a definite advantage,
• Able to organise, Work plans and equipment orders per Project requirements,
• Have Great communication skills in English both written and spoken,

The successful candidate should be enthusiastic, fresh thinking and dedicated and have a BSc / MSc degree in Geology focusing on Geotechnics and Hydrology. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience within Project Management is essential. The candidate must be comfortable communicating with new clients, employees and High level management and conveying there needs through the projects life.
